Tryout FAQ's

Players will have the opportunity to showcase their skills through drills, small-sided games, and scrimmages in front of MN Freeze coaches. Our goal is for every athlete to feel seen and have multiple chances to demonstrate their ability.

Please bring:

• A reversible jersey with a number on it
• A water bottle (basketballs are provided)
• Arrive at least 15 minutes early for check-in and warm-up

Each player only needs to attend one tryout date. We offer two options to accommodate families who may be unavailable for one.
Roster offers will be sent after both tryout dates.

We will form one team per grade for 4th through 11th grade, based on the 2025–26 school year.

• 4th–9th Grade: Rosters will be put together during the tryout process with a mix of returning players and new players from tryouts.
• 10th & 11th Grade (2027 & 2028): Rosters are full — no tryouts this season

Roster spots will be offered via email after tryouts. Families will have 24 hours to accept the offer and secure the spot with a $250 online deposit.

Offers are made at the discretion of MN Freeze staff, based on:

• Tryout performance
• Past AAU and winter season participation

If your daughter is in close consideration for a roster spot, she may be invited to a callback tryout. This allows coaches to make final evaluations by seeing players compete again.

No. The registration fee is a one-time fee that covers the entire tryout process.

If your child doesn’t receive an offer or callback, she has not made a team this season. We truly appreciate the effort and courage it takes to attend tryouts, and we hope she continues to pursue opportunities that are a great fit.
