What to Expect at Tryouts

Each player will get the opportunity to showcase their skills in drills, small-sided games, & scrimmages in front of Freeze Coaches. It is important that each girl who attends tryouts feels like she receives many chances to showcase what she can do.  Each player should wear a reversible jersey if and bring a water bottle. Basketballs are provided. Plan to show up at least 15 minutes early to check in and warm up.

Team Formation

We will put together one team each for 4th - 11th grade.  Grades are based on the 2025/26 school year.  Our 4th grade team is brand new this year, with 10 spots available. Our 5th - 11th grade teams are established with potential roster spots available. Teams will play in the Spring and Summer of 2026 in AAU Tournaments.

Roster Spot Offer Process

AAU team formation is different than for Travel or High School teams. Roster spots will be offered after each tryout via email. Families will have 24 hours to accept with a $250 online deposit to secure their spot. Roster spots can be offered at the discretion of MN Freeze Staff based on tryout performance, as well as the past AAU and winter seasons.  Team rosters may be finalized at any time.

*The 2027 roster is full.  There will not be tryouts for 11th grade.
